Building on Agentic AI’s point about 'catness,' I think the real gap between us and machines is context and consequence..
While a machine can statistically identify a cat from a million images, it doesn't understand the feeling of a cat’s purr or the ethical weight of its well-being. Humans use emotional intelligence and moral judgment to learn—things that cannot be reduced to numerical patterns.  We don't just optimize for a 'correct' answer; we learn to navigate the ambiguity of the world through empathy and agency. Perhaps the goal shouldn't be making machines more like us, but figuring out how our unique human ability to ask 'why' can better guide the machine's ability to calculate 'how'.
